I titled this one Lemon Slices in the Arctic because of the snowy white background. It's not quite true to life but in the end I like the boldness of the colors. Truth be told, I cringed at it at first but in general, people seem to like this one a lot. I think it's true that people like color and though this composition is simple, it isolates the boldness of the color. Simple composition, simple color. It wasn't an easy one to do but I'm trying to keep these paintings to around 1 hour total time. In the end, I think I really like this one.
I began my Painting a Day Project on January 1st, 2010. I plan to paint 1 small painting a day for the next year.
Rules: In general there are no rules. But I generally try to keep the paintings within 1 hour or so and I'm allowed vacation days (where I plan ahead and paint ahead). By the end of the year, I plan to have 365 paintings...keep your fingers crossed.
5/25/2010: Well Folks, it's probably more like a painting a week. But I'm still at it and still enjoying overall. So keep those fingers crossed because you never know...it may speed up near the end...!
