#14Pochade ElysianPark

This at the crest of a hill on Park street overlooking Elysian Park. I thought there would be more people on this street today but it was relatively quiet. Wasn't sure how the painting would turn out but I'm pretty pleased that again, it's not mud. I think I'm working through the mud value stage,....maybe? Hope so! It was fun and I did it in about 2 1/2 hours.

#13Pochade SecretPath Simplified

I sometimes find it helpful to copy another painting I like in hopes that it's 'goodness' will rub of on the next one. In this case you can see the apparent influence from the previous painting.

#11 Pochade Secret Path

The dogs and I pass this little secret oasis on our walk in the morning. I always wanted to try and capture it. Hollywood sign is almost visible in real life on the hill in the distance. It was too small for me to record it in the painting. I may try this one again sometime. The trick was to try to give the big field of green some depth and differentiate the greens a little. Tough one but fun. Didn't do all I wanted but it's a good start for now, I think. Biggest winner was that I avoided a muddy painting that I've lately been producing (didn't post the muddies but I should to record progress even when backwards...!)
