Green Bottle

Trying to catch the translucency of the bottle. At the same time trying to give it lightness and energy. I think I accomplished those things....I like it!

Bottle

My Linseed Oil Bottle. Hey this is fun!

CoffeeCup

And now for something completely different....a Still life!

It's difficult to get outside to paint sometimes during a busy day. Really, it's the weekend or after 7pm that I can paint. So I thought I'd try a still of my coffee cup. In the back is my bottle of Linseed oil which adds a brilliant spot of brightness and contrast.

I think I did have a breakthrough in the Chinatown painting and now I'm really excited about painting again. I'm going to try a bunch of still lifes for the next few I think.....

Chinatown

I was rather pleased at the Site with this one and my teacher said something about a 'breakthrough' for me. It's not bad...not bad...slowly slowly....I progresss...

Chinatown with the brightly colored buildings was our site today. I was a little put off at first by so many people millling around and all the architecture, that I shuttled off to one corner in the shade hoping to hideway alittle from the crowd. I also sat down for this one, which I think helped too. All in All I'm pretty happy with this one.

Etching Girl

An attempt at capturing one of my favorite people....doesn't resemble her unfortunately as she is much cuter, beautiful and brilliant in person!!

Flower Etching

My first etching from my printmaking class. Laura is a wonderful teacher! She teaches a bunch of the kids classes too and I will have to post some of the incredible and amazing pieces they produce ....sometime later because I've got to photo them.

chuck close

A copy of an early Chuck Close before he did what he was famous for (his xxxl supra realist portraits)

26th St Park

A close up of the corner of a fountain. Quite a mess. Was trying to do sort of an abstract of it but it's pfffffft!

#16 Pochade TopangaAbstract 2

...and another stab at it. Photo shown also. Kind of an interesting photo too.

#15 Pochade Topanga Abstract

A quick impression of a Landscape, from a Photo I took a couple weeks ago. I've been wanting to do some abstracting of the landscape paintings. And I was inspired by a fellow painter. Lately my painting interest has fallen off a cliff with interest equal to zero. Even tonight I didn't really feel like painting. But I just knew I had to kick start me back. And this was really fun! I didn't worry to much and just went at it. Probably did it in 30 minutes. Might try another one now....

FrankLloydWright @ Barnsdall

Here is a quick sketch of FrankLloydWright's building at Barnsdall Art Park. A little loopy but I think I caught the light.
